Hunter Model 1 with Gift Box

This hunter blade is hand forged san-mai made with real wrought iron (Over 150 years old), nickel and an O1 tool steel edge. The handle has a cast bronze guard, Gabon ebony spacer and a spalted maple handle. the construction includes internal pins to ensure the handle is robust, and the main pin is peened and epoxied.
The edges of the handle materials have rounded 'museum fit' components to ensure it will remain comfortable if the materials expand or contract due to moisture or heat/cold. Finally, the blade was etched with coffee and polished, and the handle was finished with Osmo top oil, and carnauba wax, followed with a buffing for its final presentation. The knife is displayed in a handmade walnut & maple gift box, for both gifting or showing off its beauty during times without use.
